Rejected but Fabulous
Anne Paik, a senior at Immaculate Heart High School in Los Angeles, was rejected from Princeton, Yale, Columbia, Brown, Stanford, Dartmouth, Northwestern... and the list goes on. She did, however, get into UCLA, UC San Diego and UC Irvine.
How do I know this? Because she's been blogging about it for the New York Times.
I've helped a few dozen high-school seniors with their college applications. And I've read hundreds of college-level papers. And unless the Times is rewriting her pieces, her prose is better than most Millennial essays I've read in recent years.
With 100+ comments, my bet is that she gets offered admission at several up-and-coming private colleges within the week. C'mon, how many 18 year olds blog for the New York Times?
For that matter, how many 18-year-olds can write several paragraphs that make sense to anyone over 30?
